Frequently Asked Questions

HOLIDAY LIGHTING

  • Will your installers put up the lights as well as remove them?

Absolutely, its part of the Light Up Jax full service! We provide the lights, install them custom to your home, and once the season is over our crew removes everything to store your lights so they’re ready for next season! The lights and materials, removal, and storage is all included in our price.

  • Will the lights damage my home?

No, our lights are attached to non-invasive clips so there is no damage to your roofline or gutters. Once the lights are removed, it should be as if they were never there!

  • Do I need to purchase the lights and decorations?

No, we make it easy for you. Light Up Jax leases all lights, extension wires, decorations, and materials used for the light installation. This way all the materials are in top condition and are prepared properly for the season. As part of our full service, we provide everything for your holiday lights.

  • Will you install lights that we already own?

No, Light Up Jax will only install lights, decorations, and materials we provide. This is necessary for our insurance policy, as well as for safety and quality of our work.

  • How much does your service cost?

The cost of your holiday light installation is based off the linear footage to light your home. Lights for trees, ground lights, wreaths, and multi-colored light options are an additional cost. Your price includes the lights and materials, installation and removal, and storage for next season. We are happy to provide a free quote, contact us today!

  • Do we need to be home for the installation or removal?

No, our crew just needs access to an outdoor power source and should be able to install your holiday lights without you needing to be there. We will provide a notification of arrival in advance so you know when to expect our crew for the installation. When the season is over, the lights are removed by neighborhood and all lights will be taken down by the end of January.

TROUBLESHOOT: YOUR HOLIDAY LIGHTS

  • It rained and now my lights are not turning on?

The most common reason lights do not turn on is because a GFI (Ground Fault Interceptor) outlet has turned off as a safety feature, which is associated with your existing electrical wiring. Once it’s dry out resetting a GFI outlet is easy: locate the outlet that the timer is plugged into, make sure that all the electrical cords and lighting are dry, and simply push the reset button back in. If it does not reset, the outlet may still be sensing moisture. If that happens, wait for it to dry completely, and then try to reset it again.

  • What happens if I have a problem with my holiday lights?

Our crew takes all necessary measures to prevent any problems with your lights. However, if you do have a problem with your lights  (lights are knocked down after a storm,  "Acts of God", etc.) give us a call, and we will have one of our crews come to asses the problem as soon as possible.

If the lights are damaged (for example: if a wire is cut by a lawn crew, ground lights are run over and no longer working, samage from "Acts of God") and the lights/materials need to be replaced a service fee of $150 will be invoiced to service your lights.

  • Will I have to turn on/off the system every night?

No, every system is designed to turn on at dark and turn off dawn or at a specific time you want to designate. The lighting system will come equipped with a photocell timer so you can just enjoy your lights with no effort!

LANDSCAPE LIGHTING

  • Do you provide free quotes for landscape lighting?
